ipen

i-pen Mouse is a pen-shaped mouse for PC that allows natural writing just like using a real pen. Utilizing the latest optical navigation technology, i-pen is lightweight, durable, and accurate. With i-pen Mouse, user can perform natural handwriting to do more creative work or special task that was previously impossible with a mouse. i-pen Mouse is designed to work in "mouse mode" for fast point-and-click action and also in "pen mode" for writing and drawing actions. Two modes can be changed manually with switch of the button. Especially, because it requires very small surface to write on, it is very ideal for laptop users and perfect for places where limited workspace is allowed

  1. I think the i-pen Mouse is a great example of how modern technology is helping society to go green. This technological development allows people to combine handwriting with their computers, thus eliminating the need to carry a paper based notebook. Notes can be handwritten in the margins of PowerPoint presentations and Excel spreadsheets. The i-pen Mouse would also seem to allow for more natural point and click interaction with your computer. This device is just another great example of technology moving us forward, one note and click at a time.

  2. How neat! Just a few years ago, I was so impressed by the whiteboards, and now it seems that there have been more improvements. I have heard that there is a similar pen which records notes. This allowed students to write notes in their own handwriting, and then upload them into fonts. It is crazy to think that a pen, pencil and paper me soon be a thing of the past.

  3. For people who have horrible handwriting such as myself. This is the worst invention since the PC became a popular household item. At least when I type things up no one can see my terrible handwriting, but if these pen mouses become popular...

  4. I completely agree with Chris. This technology is a innovative way to help our society and our country to go green. I actually did a recent project on this, and just by cutting back on paper usage we can prevent up to 60% of the deforestation that happens every year. This is staggering. The amount of wasted paper is phenomonal and to not have to do that now it truly a marvel.
Unfortunately there are some minor drawbacks, like what Stan was saying about not having decent handwriting. But I see this technology as being utilized more by teachers who are used to writing for their students.
Also, I could see this being developed a bit more and being used for artists. Especially those who use Photoshop and Adobe extensively. They would be able to draw right into the computer and be able to change, enhance, and color right there without having to go through the traditional scanner.

  5. This is unbelievable; technology like this would be a tremendous advantage to society because it could help the "going green" movement along with other benefits. The one downside to this would be as Stan said my ugly handwriting. Just like Stan I would most likely avoid using this since I would not want to embarrass myself

  6. This has got to beat running out of ink when in need to finish. It also serves beneficial when all you need to do is correct something or be able to draw something out when all one had before was a mouse and that took an art class all in its own to learn to master drawling with that. As mentioned in other comments, it does help with going GREEN. As the new way of today is to go green there is nothing better than accomplishing work without leaving your carbon footprint.

  7. I remember those times when I tried to so some handwriting using the mouse. I am glad to hear that something better was invented. I think this invention is another step for electronic documentation revolution. Instead using paper and pen we all will star to take electronic notes. I think it is great especially for the environmental protection. The only thinks that makes me skeptic is whether it is safe to trust computers to save the information safely enough.

  8. I don't think this invention will become very popular. It may be useful for teachers, business executives, and people who tend to demonstrate using the already popular "Smart Boards" and other tools like it. Overall, I do not believe that the average home computer user is going to find this product beneficial. I tend to write a lot of sticky notes and post them all over my desk; however, I do this because I can physically take them with me or throw them out when I am finished. Also, I'd like to note that the typical American can type and text faster than they can write physically... Just a thought.

  9. I think this might be a good invention for some people and some may get disappointed. I agree with Stan because some people have bad handwritings like me and it might be hard for computer to understand what it says. So I think it should just be like pointing and clicking on the screen by Ipen, and I think it should have an option as if a person wants to write something with their handwriting in an email or something, then it might be a good idea but then if it’s a college paper or something then some students might get a bad grade because of the handwriting. So I don’t think that this product would be a huge hit later on in future.

  10. I absolutely love this technology. Ipen is a very useful invention. I think this technology will be in use in next 5 years. It amazing how technology grows. Just 5-10 years ago we were so amazed by white boards and smart boards. This is a step above them. This technology will change the classroom and make it easier for teachers and students. I was wondering about this technology because I saw laptops having something similar to Ipen. This technology seems so advanced and cool to use in the classroom but just in couples of years, somebody will come out with something more advanced. People are leaning more toward online learning now. So, i wouldn't say that it will be a huge success in future.

  11. i think this is the coolest invention ever! i do see it in my classes but the teachers write on the projectors. but having a mouse and having a pen mouse is two different things. you can just start writing anywhere on the computer screen.
