The extra help that is sometimes needed is now available online. This may seem like a good thing, but it can also be harmful because anyone can tutor online. The following link discusses some of the advantages and disadvantages.

  1. Well, that's just silly. Why would they allow people who are not accredited to tutor. If people chose to be tutored by just anybody, I suppose it is up to them. I would have liked more information.

  2. I think that online tutoring is sometimes a good source and sometimes bad because if you are tutored by a profesional then there isn't any problem but if the tutor is not professional then they may teach you wrong things. My friend is a Math tutor and they are going to start online tutoring for some kids who can't come and get help face-to-face. She said that it is really diffucilt to help online than face to face because online student just give tutor the question and tutor can't really explain they just have to help them step by step instead of showing them how they got that answer and explaining them the procedure. I think it depends on the person getting helped like if they understand it then they won't have any problem. Personally I think that online tutoring is a good source.

  3. I think online tutoring is good. But when you do it you should get more information on the person first. Ask questions about them and only go on websites that you know their will be real tutors.

  4. I think online tutoring is a really great idea as long as you have security and you know it is not a psycho and a real tutor. There are online cops so they should be able to check up on these tutors and make sure it is legit. It is a really good way to save parents time of having to drive their kids to an actual tutor!
